Half Birthday

Today Natalie was exactly 6 months old and exactly 26 weeks old. It was definately her half birthday! We had to make a quick trip to the doctor today because of her cold so I asked them to weigh her also so I would know how big she was - 19 lbs 6 oz. Below are a few of the pictures I took of her to mark this special day in the first year of her life.

Our Big Girl

Natalie has pretty much mastered sitting up on her own! During the last week she has gotten so good, even the girls at daycare have said how well she is doing. Last Monday was the first time she stayed up on her own for more than a few minutes. Tonight she sat up the whole time I was taking pictures of her, which was probably 15 minutes. She is also reaching and playing with toys while sitting up. Here is a good picture of her wearing the cute Elmo outfit she got as a gift from Grandpa Paul and Jen and playing with her bunny from Grandpa Rich and Grandma Kathy. The pillow was behind her just in case she fell back so she wouldn't bang her head but it wasn't even supporting her.

Exersaucer

I wanted to add this short video I took of Natalie in her new Baby Einstein exersaucer. Of course the time I had the camera on her she wasn't as active as she is other times, but you can still see how interested she is in all the fun toys! Just click the "play" button in the lower left corner.

Rolling Girl

Natalie finally rolled over from her back to her tummy on Thursday night. She rolled in her sleep and we found her in her crib later that night on her tummy. On Wednesday this week she tried carrots for the first time and really seemed to like them. She ate a whole container that night! She has had a pretty nasty cold the last few days, which she probably got from Mommy and Daddy, so hasn't felt the best. Tonight she was happy for a while so I snapped this cute picture of her in a "new" outfit that she hasn't wore yet. She is mostly wearing pigtails now because otherwise her hair is always in her face!

5 Months

Below are a few of the best pictures I took of Natalie at her 5 month "photo shoot." No stats to report because she didn't go to the doctor this month. Pictures are a little late due to our trip to Nebraska and Mommy being sick last week!

Sweet Potatoes

On Friday night Natalie tried vegetables for the first time. Up first was sweet potatoes. She really liked them and ate all that I had poured into the bowl for her. The next night she ate the rest of the container. I think vegetables are a hit so far!

New Milestones

Natalie has started doing many new things now. On May 30th she grabbed her feet for the first time. She has been doing this more and more now. On May 31st she rolled for the first time from her tummy to her back. We lay her on her tummy now to see how long it takes her to roll over. Sometimes she goes halfway and looks at the world from her side and sometimes she rolls over right away. She is "talking" a lot more and making different sounds almost every day. She has eaten two kinds of cereal now (Rice and Oatmeal with Bananas) and is eating solids twice a day. We are pretty close to trying vegetables too! Overall Natalie is a healthy and happy baby girl!!

Trip to Nebraska

Mommy, Daddy and Natalie decided to head to Nebraska over Memorial Day weekend. It was going to be a short trip but we wanted to visit everyone for a bit at least.

We drove out on Saturday afternoon/evening and stayed with Grandpa Rich and Grandma Kathy. On Sunday Natalie got to meet lots of people for the first time: Grandpa Rich's cousins Don and Fran, Great Aunt Karen and Great Uncle Mike from Texas, and cousins Shelly and Kurtis from Texas. We also got to spend time with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Katie, as well as Uncle John, Aunt Mya, and cousin Ashley.

On Monday morning we headed out to spend some time with Great Grandma Juanita and Great Grandpa Wilbur then stopped in Lincoln to visit Great Grandpa Harry in the hospital and see Great Grandma Phyllis. They were all really glad to see Natalie and commented on how big she is getting!! While in Lincoln, we also went by the University of Nebraska to see where Daddy went to college at. We had to stop and get a few pictures of Natalie and Daddy in front of one of his favorite places - Memorial Stadium. One of them is below.

After that we headed to Omaha to have dinner and stay with Aunt Susie and Uncle Jason. This was the first time Natalie met Uncle Jason so he was very happy to finally get to see her and play with her. Natalie even got a present - two fun books - from Aunt Susie and Uncle Jason. She loved both of them!! Tuesday morning we headed back home. Natalie did really great on the trip, as usual.
